Gospel text
Mt 7:7-12
Jesus said to his disciples; “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus encourages us to beg, but out of faith. Not the way some Pharisees did when they asked Him to perform “little miracles” to check out whether He truly came from God. We do not need any checking, nor does God need to prove Himself: we know He is our Father from Heaven, and we have enough with that when we come to ask Him –in full confidence- for our needs. —«If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!».
