Gospel text
Lk 24:13-35
Two of Jesus’ disciples were going to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus.
Gospel's Commentary
Today two disciples leave Jerusalem because they are disheartened. But Jesus Christ is risen! And they do not know it yet. Jesus appears by their side while they are walking and speaks with them, but they do not recognize Him. He speaks of the Sacred Scriptures and they are happy with this new Companion. At dusk they arrive to the small village of Emmaus. They invite Jesus to dinner. And when He cuts and blesses the bread, they realize that their new "friend" is the Lord. - Jesus walks with us. We do not see Him, but He is near us... Do you speak every day with Jesus?
