“Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today Mary wants to see her Son ... but she cannot for the house is full of people listening to her Son. At first glance, Jesus' reaction sounds like disrespect for His Mother. But it is quite the opposite!
Christ honors His Mother with the most important thing a good child of God can do: compliance with the divine will. Do you remember the words with which the Virgin responded to the Archangel Gabriel?
