Liturgical day: Saturday 34th in Ordinary Time

Gospel text (Lk 21,34-36): «Be on your guard; let not your hearts be weighed down with a life of pleasure, drunkenness and worldly cares». Jesus said to his disciples, «Be on your guard; let not your hearts be weighed down with a life of pleasure, drunkenness and worldly cares, lest that day catch you suddenly as a trap. For it will come upon all the inhabitants of the whole earth. But watch at all times and pray, that you may be able to escape all that is bound to happen and to stand before the Son of Man».

Today Jesus is demanding from us an awake and vigilant spirit. Does it occur something? Yes, that Christ came to our Earth twenty centuries ago and many still do not seem to be aware of it or do not pay any attention to Him: their hearts are very busy with many other things. Our freedom should, above all, serve to love, not for our entertainment.

-When we pray we are able to revere God in the midst of this so exciting world, by enjoying things but without being stolen the heart of things. Only one love has the right to "steal" my heart!
