Gospel's Commentary
Today we celebrate Saint Scholastica, sister of Saint Benedict, founder of the first monastery of men in the West. Scholastic, meanwhile, founded a convent for women. Since childhood she lived consecrated to God and used to meet his brother once a year. At their last meeting, when St. Benedict already wanted to return, she asked him to stay some more time. But St. Benedict replied that the rule of his monastery did not allow it. Then Scholastic prayed to the almighty God and began to downpour ... - "What have you done, my sister?" She replied: “I wanted you to stay, and you wouldn't listen. I have asked our good Lord, and He graciously granted my request. ”
