There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today we commemorate the beginning of the apparitions of the Virgin in Lourdes (1858). The seer, Saint Bernadette, asked the Lady what was her name and she replied: "I am the Immaculate Conception." Bernadette did not know then what that meant (only three years before the Pope had solemnly proclaimed that Saint Mary had been conceived without original sin ...).
- Before the incredulity of many, the Virgin wanted to make things very clear. A caress of the Virgin with the men who are short of wine!
