Mary set out for a town in the Hills of Judah. She entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we contemplate in the Gospel the visit of the Mother of God to her cousin Elizabeth. The Virgin already has Jesus in her womb, and she does not keep it for herself: she immediately "shares" it with her relatives ... and with us!
—According to legend, the first image of the Virgin of Montserrat was found by some shepherd children inside a cave in the year 880. In the same place a hermitage was built, origin of the current Benedictine monastery, the spiritual center of Catalonia.
