Gospel text
Lk 11:47-54
The Lord said: “Woe to you who build the memorials of the prophets whom your fathers killed... Yes, I tell you, this generation will be charged with their blood!"
Gospel's Commentary
Today, our silent God raises his voice more than ever. What a scolding! God carries the discretion in His DNA. On the other side are the usual ones: Pharisees, legalists and other leaders —who have been keeping the appearance of honorable people— take advantage of modest people. Jesus can’t stand with that! His indignation explodes in severe words. - God does not keep things for himself, even if it costs him dearly: "They began to harass him." Never be discouraged; God is in our favor. Moreover, the resurrected Jesus has the last word!
