Gospel text
Lk 1:39-45
Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb... For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we hear a dialogue full of joy between two mothers: Mary and Elizabeth. But... oh surprise! Those who really talk, are two "characters" that still are in the belly of their mothers: Jesus - still an embryo of a few days - and John the Baptist - six months in his mother's womb. -The two protagonists of that solemn time were two babies, not yet born! Let us always respect human life!
