Jesus and his disciples went into the region of Judea, where he spent some time with them baptizing. John was also baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was an abundance of water there, and people came to be baptized.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we can see a very nice scene. Jesus already acts as a teacher and begins to baptize people, just what John the Baptist was already doing; that's why they he is called "the Baptist". Some feared that Jesus is going to compete with John...
- But John clearly sees it and solves it fast: 'my joy is now complete. «He must become greater; I must become less».
