Liturgical day: Ascension (A)

Gospel text (Mt 28,16-20): «I am with you always until the end of this world». The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Jesus, they bowed before him, although some doubted. Then Jesus approached them and said, «I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples from all nations. Baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to fulfill all that I have commanded you. I am with you always until the end of this world».

Today finally comes the Lord’s Ascension. We would like to live with Jesus like the people of his time. But it should make us happy that Jesus returns to His “Home”, to the place from where He came down to save us. He is there with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, with his risen body, is received in the holy world. Saint Joseph, the angels and all the saints were waiting for Him…

- What a joy! Everyone – God, the angels and saints- reunited forever and united in an eternal love. And they are all in communion with us!
