Liturgical day: Monday 34th in Ordinary Time

Gospel text (Lk 21,1-4): Jesus looked up and saw rich people putting their gifts into the treasure box; He also saw a poor widow dropping in two small coins. And he said, «Truly, I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them». Jesus looked up and saw rich people putting their gifts into the treasure box; He also saw a poor widow dropping in two small coins. And he said, «Truly, I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them. For all gave an offering from their plenty, but she, out of her poverty, gave all she had to live on».

Today we feel Jesus’s proximity: He sees everything! Nothing escapes his loving gaze. No one noticed that poor woman, much less her donation. No one! But Jesus is captivated by her. What she has given is a "treasure" for God.

-Where is the "trick"? The others gave "an offering from their plenty, but she (…) gave all she had to live on" Simply EVERYTHING, that is, herself. Before God quantity doesn’t count, but yourself!
