January 25th: Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul, Apostle

Download
Gospel text (Mk 16:15-18): Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature." Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages. They will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Today we remember Jesus’ last words to His Apostles. At that time, St. Paul was not yet part of the group of the Apostles. He joined them later on, after his conversion. And he complied to the letter the apostolic demand. Paul, throughout three long trips, went round half world to preach Christ. This is why he is the "Apostle to the Gentiles”.

—It took many years for Saul to meet Jesus. You, probably, have known Him from a young age. So you have time to go with Jesus Christ many more miles than St. Paul!
