Gospel's Commentary
Today, Jesus Christ warns us about the difficulties of following Him. He asks us for a love of charity, that is, the same love with which God loves us: total respect for all people, wherever they may be, without excluding anyone. Faced with the demands of this "new love", Jesus suffered the opposition of many who did not understand Him. — Is there anything like "a sluggish love"? Those who lead a life of "tranquility", without any engagements, doing only what they want, cannot endure authentic, demanding love. Perhaps, there will be times when you will have to suffer the scorn of those "self-indulgent" elements.
