Gospel text
Mt 7:1-5
Jesus said to his disciples: “Stop judging, that you may not be judged."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we continue to listen to Jesus’ Sermon. Now he advises us not to rush when talking about others. We easily crush them by "dictating a verdict"! It is unfortunate, especially considering that our knowledge of people is very limited. Not so the gaze of God, Who knows everything of all souls and praises the most positive of them. -Another easy way to "hide" my shortcomings is to talk (even to exaggerate) the faults of others. "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." --Jesus, I would like to see with your merciful eyes.
