Today's Gospel + image + catechesis

Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

Gospel text (Mt 7:6.12-14): Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not give what is holy to dogs" Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces. “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the Law and the Prophets. “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.”

Today Jesus Christ asks us to appraise well both our faith and the holy things. Jesus has brought us God to our Earth. God is with us! There He is: in the Church, in the Eucharist and in the other sacraments, in the Bible (His written Word), amongst His followers... But sometimes there is so much disdain towards God... Some would prefer a "God-clown": if you can make a miracle ... if you turn stones into bread ... if you come down from the cross ... then I will believe in you.

--How easy is to make fun of the humble God!" But when man despises God, man also despises man. Just take a look at History!
