Today’s Gospel
for the family
Today's Gospel + image + catechesis
Gospel text (Mt 7:15-20):
Jesus said to his disciples: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing."
Jesus said to his disciples: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you will know them.”

Today we are on guard. Why? There is a lot of noise around us! There are always some guys who like to brag about their wisdom and try to give us lessons by laughing at God. Their favorite subjects: God, the Church, the priests, the family... Do you want to try them out? "By their fruit you will recognize them" Jesus tells us.
--Just ask those “prophets”: what family do you have? How many children? How many vocations have you brought? What about eternity? And you will see that "they do not collect grapes from thorns or figs from thistles".
