Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time (C)
Gospel text
Lk 13:22-30
Jesus passed through towns and villages, teaching as he went and making his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, "Lord, will only a few people be saved?" He answered them, "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we are witnesses of a useless question (typical of men’s curiosity) and, at the same time, a profound response (from God). What does it matter to us if there are many or few who are saved? Are "statistics" going to save us? -What really matters is to love with works and truth. Oh, and with effort because "easy loves" do not work (check the latest statistics!).
