Gospel text (Mk 8:11-13):
The Pharisees came forward and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven to test him.
The Pharisees came forward and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven to test him. He sighed from the depth of his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Amen, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.” Then he left them, got into the boat again, and went off to the other shore.

Today we witness more arguments. Jesus does not want to argue: rather, it is us that argue with God. Yet again we see how the Pharisees tempt Jesus: they ask him to operate miracles. However, when they have seen the miracles of the young Master they say He is possessed by the Evil one… they are truly hard to understand these Pharisees!
-They are insistent, this lot! Is perhaps this the way we are supposed to treat God our Lord? Who is the God: He, the One and only, or are we? Because at times, it seems that we look down at God as if he were a “cute wizard”.
