Today, Jesus bids His disciples good-bye, before returning to the Father. It is the beginning of His farewell discourses in the Gospel according to St. John. Jesus wants to inject some words of consolation for His disciples, by telling them that He is leaving to prepare them a dwelling and, at the same time, He encourages them so they keep believing in the Father and in Him.

When going “home”, Jesus places Himself at the same level as the Father, because He is God as the Father is God. The Father is His home, just as the Son is the Father’s house: They mutually dwell in the Holy Spirit. We, sons in the Son, all belong in the House of Heaven, where Jesus has prepared a place for us.

—Thank You, Lord Jesus, because You are preparing us a place next to the Father; thank You because You want to take us to Your “Home”, and to let us share the glory You have always had with the Father, in the Spirit of You, both.
