Today's Gospel + short theological explanation
The Christian is a pilgrim, he walks alongside with Jesus
EDITORIAL TEAM evangeli.net (based on texts by Pope Francis) (Città del Vaticano, Vatican)Today, as life is not too static, it must be walked along. In order to remain in the love of Jesus, we set off to walk along the streets in our city, with the cheerful certainty that He walks by our side. The joy of the love of the Lord makes us walk together as pilgrims, with a feeling that we are the faithful people of God; linked to others.
We cannot remember Jesus being installed in our own self. The Christian is a pilgrim, a walker. Jesus told us He is the Way and if you want to remain in the Way you have to follow it. You don’t just “remain” being static. Nor do you travel at full speed, bump into everyone, or run over anyone: Jesus wants us to be neither static nor trampling into everybody else; He wants us to be peacefully hard-working in the Way. He sets the pace for us.
-This is the way Mary walked along: she, just after having received the Angel’s annunciation, stood up and set off to serve her cousin. She kept her Son’s company in His way of the Cross and leads the Church to the Father’s House.
