Revelation to Nicodemus
Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. He came to Jesus at night (Jn 3:1-2)

The Beatitudes (Sermon on the Mount)
Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them (Mt 5:1-2)

The first commandment
One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him, "Which is the first of all the commandments?" Jesus replied, "The first is this: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Mk 12:28-31)

The synagogue of Capernaum: The "bread of life"
"The one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.” (Mt 5:1-2)

The Mercy of God
“Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She replied, “No one, sir.” Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin anymore.” (Jn 8:10-11)

Jesus Denounces the Hypocrisy of the Pharisees
Jesus said: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity" (Mt 23,23)

The "Parable of the prodigal son"
His father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. His son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son.' But his father ordered, 'Quickly, bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger... Let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again.' (Lk 15:20-24)

Jesus reveals his divinity
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.” So they picked up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area (Jn 8:58-59)

Various opinions about Jesus
So a division occurred in the crowd because of him. Some of them even wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him. So the guards went to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, “Why did you not bring him?” The guards answered, “Never before has anyone spoken like this man.” (Jn 7:43-46)

Final judgment
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away" (Mc 13,31)
