Dear friends,
Today we inaugurate for all evangeli.net users the “Thoughts on Today’s Gospel”. Each day, after the Gospel commentary, you will find a section with three short quotes: the first, from a Father or saint of the Church; then a phrase from one of the more recent Popes; finally, a few words from the "Catechism of the Catholic Church".
For 5 years we have worked to obtain this formidable and extensive testimony of the best Tradition of the Church, with which we hope to enrich the reflection provided by the comments of our “modern” editors. In this way, we wish to fulfill the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ: “Then every scribe who has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old.” (Mt 13:52).
My thanks to the great team of evangeli.net volunteers, whose dedication to writing and translation —which adds up to thousands of hours of work— has made this spiritual literary dream come true.
A warm greeting.
