The new Evangelization

Fr. Antoni CAROL i Hostench (Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain)

Today, the Lord is sending us —as He did with the Apostles— to "pro-claim" a message the World urgently needs to hear: the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Yes! a “New World Order” is possible, but only with the light of Christ. The Kingdom of Heaven has already begun, within and amongst us. And, in a mysterious way —that is, a discreet but real way— it brings in God’s "order" in the world, making it more “breathable”.

We must fearlessly face a situation which, as a result of globalization, each time, becomes more varied. A "new Evangelization” is needed, which will stimulate the impulse and eagerness of the apostolic prayer after the Pentecost. This passion will spark off in the Church a new missionary action, which will not be passed on to just a few “experts”. In the apostolate there are no such "experts"! Whoever is baptized is an apostle because he/she participates of the priestly Mission (redeeming) of Christ.

—Jesus, who has truly found You, cannot “retain” You only for him/her, but he/she must herald You.
